No this has nothing to do with Star Wars... LightForce is a new orthodontic treatment that Kennell Orthodontics is starting this May! Before trying our first few cases, we would like you to know what it is all about! This will hopefully interest you enough to try it yourself!
So let's start with that LightForce braces even are. Traditional braces are metal, but LightForce braces are 3D printed ceramic brackets. One of the biggest differences between the two are that metal braces are basically one size fits all, whereas the ceramic LightForce brackets are custom to each persons teeth being able to digitally plan treatment.
Some other benefits of the LightForce treatment is that just like the orthodontic assistants can place the attachments for Invisalign, they will also be able to solely put the LightForce braces on without Dr. Kennell! This will help with using our time efficiently in a days work. LightForce patients won't have to wait for Dr. Kennell to come over to place the brackets if he is caught up with another patient, he would actually be able to see more patients alongside a LightForce bonding appointment. He can also use this time to work on finishing other treatment plans for other patients. It truly is a win-win!
Since Dr. Kennell can digitally plan out the LightForce treatment he can visualize how the process will go. Movement is different in every person, but it will atleast give him a better overview because the brackets are customized!

LightForce is something we are trying out and hope to find that is an additional, efficient way of doing orthodontic treatment! There is nothing wrong with still getting Traditional braces, clear braces, or Invisalign too.
