This year’s flu is the worst it has been in ten years and we are in the peak season.
Check out this article posted this week in NY DAILY NEWS -
Here are some simple steps you can take to help yourself avoid colds and the flu this season.
Be sure to get yourself and your family protected from the flu
- Get vaccinated
- Wash your hands before and after brushing
- Allow the brush to air dry after each use, harmful bacteria dies after being exposed to oxygen
- Store the toothbrush in an upright position to allow water to drain and dry faster
- Replace toothbrush after every cold or flu or every 3-4 months when bristles appear worn
To promote a healthy and clean environment, our team gives a great deal of attention to sanitation and sterilization in our office at all times, as well as following all requirements for sterilizing instruments and work surfaces.
For the protection of other patients and our staff, we always ask that patients reschedule their appointments if they have any type of cold or illness that can infect others. We hope this helps and give us a call if you have any questions!

Spread the Cheer this time of year!
1 in 7 U.S. households don't know where their next meal is coming from. (Shocking, right?)
You can do something about this...
“Share the Love” is back! Leaving the Holiday Season of giving to those you love and those less fortunate does not need to stop. Together we can SPREAD THE CHEER THIS TIME OF YEAR!
Giving makes us all feel good, and the 2012 “Share the Love” program was a large success filling the shopping cart with non-perishable foods for the Laconia Area Food Pantry. With the winter season upon us, and the fresh load of snow dropped right after Christmas reminds us that it is important to keep our local community healthy through the season.
• When most people think about hunger, they think of a starving child in a third-world country. Or perhaps they think of a long line of homeless people waiting outside an inner-city soup kitchen.
• The truth is that hunger in United States is a huge problem. In a country known for its wealth and prosperity, 50 million Americans struggle to find their next meal.
• Did you know 17 million children go to bed hungry every night?
• The face of hunger has changed. No longer is it just the homeless man on the street reaching out for a helping hand, but millions of everyday people struggling to feed their families. No one is a stranger to the economic hardships of today.
Dr. Kennell and the Kennell Ortho Team are once again kicking off a non-perishable food drive program, when you bring in a non-perishable food item; you will be entered in the 2013 “Share the Love” prize drawing. 4 lucky winners will be announced on Wednesday March 27th!
Share this post with your Kennell Ortho friends and family so together we can SPREAD THE CHEER THIS TIME OF YEAR!.

The year is almost over, and as we reflect on the year that was, we’d like to ask all our patients: what was memorable about 2012 for you, and what are you looking forward to in 2013? Do you have a New Year’s resolution, or any exciting plans for the coming year?
We know that we are looking forward to serving our amazing patients with even more great care in 2013!
Have a safe and happy New Year from our family to yours!
